Monitoring of Respiratory Health Risks Caused by Biomass Storage in Urban-Type Heating Plants

The aim of this work was to carry out long-term monitoring on the concentration and identification phytopathogens in wood chip storage areas urban-type heating plants. Three municipal plants central part Slovakia were selected. store biomass large-capacity piles with a volume 4 5000 m3. Samples obtained every year 2017–2022 period from surface depth 0.5 m. Their moisture content determined laboratory microbial analysis performed by an accredited laboratory. average number colonies did not differ significantly individual years. highest colony-forming units per gram achieved species genera Penicillium Aspergillus. In terms occurrence years frequency samples, most frequently recorded Mycelia Sterilia, Aspergillus brasiliensis, unguis, Yeasts. Based results achieved, future it will be necessary establish legislative frameworks for these risks and, at least national level, procedures activities, so that health life workers plants, as well residents vicinity type plant, are endangered.
